We have finally opened our Wine Shop and Cafe! The cafe boasts the very best in traditional large espresso machines and already has a reputation for the best coffee in Appleby! Rose and Aileen cook Crepes, Galettes, Paninis and Drop Scones to order all through the day and at Lunchtime the cafe menu is supplemented with dishes from the main kitchen.
Nigel has always had a keen interest in wine and did not take any persuasion to run the wine lists in our two restaurants. He has been importing wine now for some 10 years both for his own cellar and for the hotels and it is a natural progression to have a wine shop. He is very keen to do alot more importing and expand what we offer.
The ethos behind the shop is to offer wines, spirits and gifts that you cannot get elsewhere, particularly at a supermarket! At prices that offer value for money. To this end we make our own pickles, marmalade, jams and christmas puddings, and stock a range of wines at all price levels. Our special offer of 3 bottles of the Las Corazas range of wines for £14.45 has proved very popular as have our gift boxes to make special presents perhaps for your host on a fishing or shooting trip. We stock the unusual from the very best sherries from Lustau, to rare old Bas Armagnacs from Gascogny.

TUESDAY NIGHT IS TAPAS NIGHT We are carrying on our tapas every Tuesday night from November onwards in the main hotel bar. There will be the addition of exciting dishes from the hotel kitchen as well as wines of the week from the wineshop at special introductory prices to accompany the tapas.
PRIVATE PARTIES Our wine shop and bar is available for wine tastings and private parties. These events make great and unusual presents. Parties are welcome from 10 to 16 people, let us help make your special occassion a little bit different!
CHRISTMAS WINE TASTINGS COMBINED WITH SUNDAY LUNCH We will be offering Christmas wine tastings combined with Sunday Lunch in the Conservatory Retaurant on the following dates :- Sunday's 27th November, 4th December, 11th December.
2010 PAPOLLE We have just imported our second 200 case shipment of 2010 Domaine Papolle from Gascony and it is better than ever! A case of 6 bottles is a bargain at £33.50. It is delightfully fresh, aromatic with surprising length and is flying out the door!
